Press Release | Houston, TX | December 14, 2009

Digisonics wins cardiovascular research deal with Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

Digisonics DigiView Image Management & Reporting System was selected by Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Md., for their research in the Coronary Artery Risk Development in Young Adults (CARDIA) Study. According to the CARDIA website, the study, which began in 1986, examines how lifestyle choices influence cardiovascular disease in adults.

DigiView was chosen for its high-performance image analysis, unparalleled quantification capabilities, configurable clinical database and PACS image archive. DigiView’s unique interface capability with VCRs and DVD players for video-to-digital conversion was also an important factor in the decision.

The research staff will also utilize DigiView Search, a customizable data mining tool that will locate specific clinical information pertinent to their research. Fully functional remote capabilities through DigiNet Pro, a web-based application, will offer the same reading and editing functionalities as DigiView, and it is accessible anywhere via the Internet.
